Data Access, Correction and Deletion Procedure
How to see, fix or remove the personal information we hold about you.
1. Purpose
This procedure explains how to access, correct or delete the personal information GoBro holds about you, under the Australian Privacy Principles.
2. What you can do yourself
Most information is available in your account: profile, listings, bookings, contracts, invoices and messages. You can edit your profile details and download your contracts and invoices at any time.
3. How to make a request
Email privacy@gobro.com.au from the address on your account. Tell us your username and whether you want access, correction or deletion.
4. Confirming your identity
We may ask a question about your account to be sure the request comes from you. We will not ask you to email an identity document unless it is genuinely necessary.
5. Timeframes
We acknowledge privacy requests within 5 business days and answer within 30 days. If we need longer, we will explain why.
6. Access
We provide a copy of the personal information we hold, in a readable format. There is no charge for a reasonable request.
7. Correction
We correct information that is inaccurate, out of date or incomplete. Where a document cannot be changed — a signed contract, for example — we attach a note recording the correction.
8. Deletion and what we must keep
You can delete your own account from the "My profile" page, under "Delete my account". Deletion is permanent: every listing you own disappears from the site straight away, your identity documents, payout account, favourites and notifications are erased, and your profile becomes "Deleted member". Deletion is blocked while a booking is under way, a dispute is open or a payout is still due.
We delete or de-identify what we no longer need. We must keep transaction, contract, dispute and tax records for 7 years, security logs for 12 months and analytics for 14 months. Identity document images are deleted within 30 days after verification.
9. If we cannot agree to a request
We will tell you in writing why, and how to ask for an internal review within 14 days.
10. Complaints and the OAIC
You can complain to privacy@gobro.com.au, and if you are not satisfied, to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at www.oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
